Yves Stilmant is a Belgian-born cinematic composer whose work is deeply rooted in the ancient Belgae of Gaul — a continental Celtic heritage that predates and differs from the more widely recognized traditions of Ireland and Scotland. Inspired by ancestral Europe, his music blends orchestral storytelling with historical and mythological depth, creating immersive sound worlds designed for film, narrative media, and large-scale conceptual projects.

Now based in California, Yves has built a prolific catalog of cinematic and orchestral works spanning decades. Drawing inspiration from the great traditions of film scoring while maintaining a deeply personal and historically grounded voice, his compositions range from intimate lyrical passages to powerful large-scale symphonic movements driven by emotion, narrative, and a strong sense of place.

His work has received growing international recognition through film festivals and music competitions worldwide, including honors from the World Film Festival in Cannes, Global Music Awards, Mozart International Music Competition, Beethoven International Music Competition, Bach International Music Competition, Classical Stars International Music Competition, Fenix Awards, Ravel Music Awards, and Gabriel Fauré Music World Competition.

Deeply connected to his Belgae heritage, Yves's work focuses on reviving the memory and spirit of ancient continental European cultures. Through projects such as Arduenna: The First Roots, Daughters of Arduenna, Guardians of Arduenna, Gallia Belgica, Spiritus Belgarum, and I Am Belgae, he brings to life a lesser-known branch of the Celtic world with authenticity, restraint, and cinematic scope.

Founder of Lumière SoundWorks / Audio Alchemy Productions and Groove Tattoo Publishing, Yves and his daughter Tabatha Stilmant oversee a catalog of more than 800 registered original works.

In addition to his music career, Yves is an award-winning author whose works explore history, identity, mythology, and storytelling. His books include I Am Belgae, recipient of an International Impact Book Award, and the award-winning fantasy novels The Legend of Arakai and Arakai and the Sisters of Elune.
